Zune battery leaking?

I just bought my zune and by "just bought" i mean i have just gotten it from fedex because i bought it from the online store. I plugged it in and updated and all that and was very happy with my zune 4gb BUT i found a major drawback! no matter how long i charge my zune or where it will show "green battery" buy the moment i unplug it it goes down to about a quarter to a hlaf of battery life so my zune dosent last very long. Is this a hardware or firmware issue? can i fix it at home by reseting it or a program without opening it? if not how can i send it back to microsoft for them to repair it?

any suggestons you have will help greatly thanks.

Try charging the Zune until the battery icon turns green. Plug in headphones and play all songs on repeat. Set the backlight for max brightness, and always on. Let it run until it dies, then turn it back on and play it some more. After it won't turn on anymore, charge it fully. That should help condition the battery.

thanks tried that but still nothing :( might as well send it back to ms to see if they can fix it.

Well that won't solve your problem...Microsoft fixes them for free, buying an iPod isn't. Hmm...

If you just got it take it back to the store you got it at. They should replace it for free.

ya i cant return it :(, i have a work order for it but scince my dad is upgrading his own media player im getting his ipod and my zune's going to my brother so it all works out unless ms can fix the thing then ill hang with it.
