Songs always syncing and taken up space fix.

Sticky please, as this is what I did and it fixed my problem.

This step by step will tell you exactly how to fix the problems of songs constantly resyncing or songs being on your zune but not registering on your software

1. Make sure no auto sync is set to on in the zune software.

2. go to here and download the zune hd hack. (This is the download link I got from here if the first link doesn't work go here to get the newest one.)

3. Install the patch, and then plug in your zune and turn on the zune program.

4. Go into my computer and select the zune (It will be under the name you gave your zune. It may also appear with two icons, click the one with the picture. If neither have a picture, just pick one)

5. Select portable, and than delete the song and the album cover directories.

6. Disconnect your zune, and than reconnect it. Have a pen and a piece of paper ready.

7. Write down all the songs/pictures/videos that are still syncing.

8. Go here and download audacity to re-record your music. For video, upload the movie to youtube and than use youtube downloader 3000 to download the .flv, than use a converter (such as super C, which has a zune setting) to convert it back into a zune file. For pictures, either open it with a picture editing program and export it or find it on the internet.

9. Resync all your stuff back onto your zune. This should have cleared up all your taken up space and stopped the auto sync problem. If problems with the auto sync still occur, delete the files entirly.

Hope this helps.

Does this problem not exist anymore or what?

I'm having the "multiple duplicate tracks" problem, but I'm not willing to do all of that crap above to fix it.

Why doesn't it just work properly?  It shouldn't be this complicated.

Or you could do this: (Faster):
THIS WILL ALSO NOT VOID YOUR WARENTEE BY BEING COMPLETLY SAFE AND NOT "HACKING" BY EDITING THE REGISTRY UNLIKE THE ORIGINAL POSTERS.

For some reason if you went from 1.4 straight to 2.2 it resyncs any song with a blank album tag.

The fastest way to fill in the blanks:
Settings > Device, clear your Zune of all data
Close the software.
Download winamp, let it scan for all your songs.
Now, sort by "Album" by clicking the album tab at the top, select all the tracks with a blank spot where the album is suppose to be.
Hit Ctrl+E and click the checkbox beside "Album" and type "Uknown Album" and click ok
This fills in the blanks for all the tracks you have with a blank album tag the fasest, of course you can manually do it but either way they wont resync.
Exit winamp
Open the Zune software and let it sync

Should no longer have dups.

Last night I did this:
- Delete all tracks from my Zune.
- Delete all tracks from my Collection (by deleting the Zunestore.asd file).
- Dellete all "multiplying" tracks from Explorer.
- Re-rip all of those tracks with WMP11.
- Repopulate the Collection by relaunching the software.
- Sync my Zune to the Collection.

I'm back to only 1 copy of each track on the player...I haven't attempted another sync, though.  I picked up some new CDs this morning that I'll have to add to my player, so I'll report back after it goes through the sync process again.

Lol, yeah and make sure you have your antivirus up to date before you install this "hack" that contains a trojan.. Genius.
