will we need to uninstall all of the games then reinstall them when 3.0 comes out?

We don't think you'll need to but can provide no guarantee. As with the early nature of software, we can't always provide a perfect upgrade path due to changes that we need to fix in the software. That said upgrading projects should not be that much work and people should be able to do so quickly.
