the only thing watch for is the typo in that posting... - do NOT rename the cab file from 0104xxxx.cab to 0105xxxx.cab.... KEEP IT AS IT IS :)

yup then you can't use the  marketplace so i mean wow awesome idea.  Lets downgrade because we don't know how to use the software effectively.  SMART!

haha no you idiot - the software just plain sucks first of all - second - it doesn't recognize JS mp3's - so i'm out 5,000+ songs to listen to - so i need to revert back so i can have my music back...

i'm not going to sit here while ms decides to create a patch for this flaw or not - and be out my device until that time... so - downgrading is my only option

I never asked for a zune, it was baught for me, and im not into downloading any music at all, im old fasioned i guess, im about the CD's and im sorry, my life would be alot better right now if it wernt for those stupid "Updates" that M.S. pushes on my every 5 sec. of my life, im just a man, im just trying to "Keep it real" as we say on BET, i just want it to work................

The problem here is that the average consumer is going to, as you put it, "screw up".  People are buying the Zune to play music and movies, not use the marketplace.  Most don't know that the player is tied to a single piece of software.  Most don't know that you can not manage your music/video library with the software anymore.  More than likely, they will find out after trying to figure out how to edit the album art, or change artist information, or see recently added music, or see recently added podcasts.  These are things most would expect from music software from the biggest software company in the world.

Most would say the old software isn't perfect.  But, it is more flexible.  I'm thinking about downgrading.  I'm not sure where I stand just yet.  I haven't reached that level of frustration just yet.  But if I continue to have ID3 tag issues, no doubt I will make the switch.

I quit... I'm retiring... Aint enough money is this game to keep me around!

you still buy music? what is this: 1998. i will never use the market place, and althought the new software is pretty it lost so much functionality and intuitivness that i want to scream. if i would have known what the trade off was going to be i wouldn't have 'upgraded' either. where the hell did the 'visualizations' go! unless MS put some visualizations into the next patch i will probably downgrade my firmware and software as well.

I feel sorry for you.  You seem to be always complaining about something.  The tone of every one of your posts is negative.  People complain about the new software and you complain about them and belittle them and claim that they are just whiners and complainers.  And when someone takes action to address their complaints, you continue to complain about them.

I applaud the OP for taking action to make his Zune a device that he is happy with rather than incessantly complaining.  The OP is happy with his Zune again, and as a fellow Zune owner, I'm glad that he is.   Old software or new, people should go with what they prefer.   People who have downgraded their players don't want others to agree with them and follow them, so why are you so adamant that everyone should just "suck it up" and be stuck with the new software?

Maybe you don't seem to understand my problem with the gravity of all the negative posting and that's find.  Limited minds can't really comprehend that in order to have a legitimate complaint about something one must first actually give REASON for such negativity.  99% of the people whinning and moaning about the software HAVEN'T.  Their complaints simply boil down to their unwillingness to try and find the help necessary to help with their product as they would rather spam "i hate the software" comments over several different threads.  I'm not the only one that feels like this or says as much so please keep your narrowminded comments to yourself.
