Text Messaging Zunes
Your sitting on the bus at 7 of the morning heading to your high school, or junior high, and your listening to your favorite song full blast.'DAMN, that history test is TODAY' you think.
As you painfully take out your history binder, and trying to keep your eyes open you read note per note, your zune does a silly dinging noise and you grab it from your pocket.
"1 new zune-to-zune textmessage" it said in the middle of the song screen
'Wtf?' you told yourself. You click the middle button and read the 100 letter text message from your neighbour a seat over.
OH I FORGOT, new program, what a bonus to my life! My cell phone broke a day ago anyways.


Who agrees with me that this would be pretty cool

downfall: you would have to select letter by letter with the zune scroller.

Exactly. And that is why it would be more hassle than intuitive. Plus, I don't know about you, but I'm never around anyone who has a Zune so it wouldn't benefit me at all.

Well, when cell phone text messages first came out people where all "wtf" cause it wasn't qwerty, but nowadays some people text faster than they type. I'm sure people would adapt to the letter-by-letter buisness. It'd be cool if zunes didn't have to be next to eachother to text (like, your friends list or whatever), but you could also scan for nearby zunes to message.

It would be nice if I could receive messages... and choose from a list of user defined responses;

... I use my pre-fab quick comments on my cell too... they do the job just fine for most things...

hometeam360, i agree. it would be nice if you can program up to 50 of those on the zune program, and sync them to your zune like you sync music and such

You can already to that, but they are in photo form.

A little keyboard would show up on the screen you say and you go through letter by letter, what if a cell phone pad showed up on the screen and T9 would work so you go through the 9 numbers each with  the same function as a cell phone button when it comes to texting. Then that with T9 will make it very easy to text with a Zune.

ANd it will go from 26 buttons to scroll through to 9, one of which will let you choose things like ?s and !s.

well someone has made this, its call ZIM(zune instant message)

you can find it at www.zuneboards.com >>got to forum>> the Zune games>> applications

pros- zune to zune im, works good

cons- other person needs to have it on, is alittle bugg(but is still in alpha)
