Best Buy is Against Zune

so here it goes,

im at best buy a couple of weeks ago looking at the zune 80's with my freind cause he wanted to buy one. so we are looking at them and i turn it on and they didnt even set it up, it still says please connect to the zune software. the same with the zune 8's. so we play with the ipod touch and wala they even set up the friggen wifi on the ipod touch.... can you say bias? so i ask the salesman why they dont set up the zunes cause all they have to do is plug them in to activate them and he basically tells me that zunes are inferior and why would i want one anyways when ipods are so much better because they are from apple....yeah.....right... so of course i rip this guy a new one with the information against ipods and all of the stuff that goes wrong with them

but my thing is that this isnt isolated. every best buy i go into the zunes arnt set up. none . zero. and i have posted this on other zune forums and other users have said the same things about best buy. they push ipods and put the zunes and the zune accessories in the corner. this is crap. i just wanted to make this vocal to make microsoft and the zune team aware of the situation.

has anyone here had the same experience?

I've seen it both ways. The Circuit City near me had a Zune 80 set up, but the 4 and the 8 weren't. I've also been in a Best Buy, and it was the same- ipods were all set up, but no other players were.

I haven't really checked lately, but best buy is where I bought my zune in the first place. However, about the zune accessories? They don't sell them in mine.

i dont know how true this is, but i read apple products dominate stores like best buy, target, walmart, etc because of apples ipod marketing strategy. in order for a store to sell a certain ipod products it has to reserve a percentage of its total mp3 player/portable electronics shelf space to ipod and accessories.  this reduces the amount of available shelf space for other products.

has anyone else heard this?
