Two People, One Zune Pass

Karl Essinger 11/13/2007 16:21:52
I assume two devices can still access one Zune Pass. So can I set the devices to two different users, so we can have two Zune Cards? How does this work?

Up to 3 people can use a zune pass, but I don't think that you can have different sign in names.

I am curious about this too.  Me and my wife share the zune subscription, but we don't want to share the zune card.  Is there any way to associate her Live ID with mine?

I share my zune pass with my wife and daughter, that is why the Veggitales songs are in my profile :S

I am also in the same boat. My wife and I share our Zune Pass. It would be nice if we could both have our own login's and Zune Cards.

Don't try to be something your not... I'd rather be king of nothing then a servant in a sick society!

Same Issue here.... There should be a "Family" Account where different Live IDs can be associated to the same ZunePass account...

Zune 30 --> Zune 80 --> Zune 120 --> ZuneHD

Multiple people can access one zune pass, however, only one person can be signed into the account used to download at a time. Once music is downloaded, it is licensed to your pc, and the others associated to the account. This allows the music to still be played via any other account that logs in.

I think the issue here is that since the account is now associated with a zune card -- that is the account is now much more associate with a person rather than a machine -- people will want to be logged into their own account when using the software. I just want my wife to be able to download what she wants, without logging into my account, and vice versa.

I agree it would totally be awesome to be able to have one "master" Zune Pass account, and then have two sub-accounts that can access it.

Then those in your family can use it, and each can have their own Zune Card's.

I think the best scenario would be in the account settings screen, where you see what computers and devices you have, to allow you to associate a device or computer to a Zune Card.

I sure hope some kind of solution is available soon or my recently played music will be filled with broadway musicals and country music :P

That would require two seperate zune passes. One route you could take is having an account for downloading, and then seperate accounts for yourself and your wife.

Edit: Just to be clear. Zune pass licenses up to 3 machines, you do not need to be logged into the zune pass account to access this music. What this means is you can download as much music as you'd like through the zune pass and listen to it through another account, or program.

When you say another program I could listen to it with like WinAmp if I wanted to? Interesting.
