My Zune Experience Has Been Great
I've purchased a Zune4 Green and really love it.  The software is intuitive and creatively thought out. I'm really not into Apple products or the culture around them, I think they get away with alot of mediocrity and mistakes because the masses have bitten into the rotten apple. I never thought I would be making an anti-establishment move by purchasing a Microsoft product, but that's exactly what's going on here.

I think you can see Microsoft is responding to several requests with the new Zune models and software. If the community continues to be vocal and constructive, you will be participating in the molding of a top notch hardware/software experience surrounding your audio/video.

I am glad to see this thread. I was beginning to think I had the only Zune with no issues. I was starting to think that the stars aligned when I sync'ed my 1700 song, 5000 picture collection to the Zune 80 using the new software since I am the only one that had no issues.

Thanks for letting me know that there are others that have had no troubles. I am reading these threads and just wondering what I am doing that the others aren't.

  • I flashed my Zune 30 to 2.2 on gameday, nothing wrong with my album art, I didn't lose songs... nothing.
  • I sync'ed the same collection to my new Zune 80, same thing... nothing wrong.
  • I sync'ed 2 of the 3 flash Zunes I bought with Zune pass albums. No issues.

Are we the lucky ones StudioOneDJ?

The only issue I had was the messed up album art. But other then that i have not had any issues with my Zune. I love my Zune and I would never trade it in for anything. Funny thing is, I am a Mac user. I am a designer and I use Mac by default -- I really like them. I used PC's aswell, but i guess im just not used to them anymore. People look at me like im crazy when I sit on my Mac listening to my Zune. Thankfully, I have not been brainwashed by Apple -- it might be because i dont attend those strange meetings they seem to hold at apple stores to "learn software".

Owner of a White Zune 30g since late august.  I've had nothing but a bad-@$$ experience with it, and the new softwar is definitely an improvement overall.  I did have the same problem of messed up albums covers and what not, but zune ppl came up with a fix that did it for me and many others.  So this is one satisfied Zuner.

My Zune Experience has been great too. Had my Zune sent to the UK (Black 30gb) and recieved last Christmas. Never had any problems with it. Loved the old Software. Love the new Software more (Cleaner, Simpler, Sexyer and Easy to Hack). The only problem i have (a friends fault i admit), is that my hold button is the wrong way around (yes its minor - i am making a point about the only problem) due to it being knocked out of my hand, splitting open (the not so bad way.. ie. . the front and back came apart). Luckily i put everything back together in the correct places (except the hold button.. i put it in backwards - it still works though) and everything continued to work after refirmwaring my device when i got home. I learnt how to put the Zune back together weeks before with internet guides, and its actually very simple to do (thanks microsoft and zune team), i was just pretty annoyed they didnt cover the Zune Hold Button in the internet guides i had read.. Smile [:)]

I had absolutely no issues downloading the new software to my zune 30.  Works great!

 

Ive never owned an ipod or apple anything for that matter but I have Itunes installed on my PC because I liked to watch Lost and BSG which I would download from Itunes but about two months ago It stopped working.  Apparently they had some software upgrade and Ive never been able to watch anything since.  looed for a solution but was unable to find one.  I still have 3 episodes of lost which I paid for but have been unable to watch. 

Apple lost a potential new customer.

Ive had my Zune since december 06 and have never had an issue.

Nothing at all happened to me when syncing the new software to my 30. Only problem I had was losing the rating system, but I'll live. I personally think the new interface is amazing and was very simple to get on my Zune.

Yup, great thread.  I think a good rule of thumb is that if something works, the company gets no praise.  But if there is an issue, it goes to all the blogs and fills up the forums making the Zune look like a problem child.

Totally Agree. Only problems draw attention. When something is rocking out, it gets attention but not as much as a flaw. Update is killer! Love it!
