Features Needed For Next Zune Update...

Since everyone is going off on rants and creating numerous threads about features that are missing I figured I would create one thread where everyone can chime in on what they want. That way the Zune Team has one thread to look @. So far I've got these:

-Auto Playlists
-Right Click "Get Album Art" Feature
-Genre Browsing

PASTE for album art (like it used to do)

Video organization tools

Respect video metadata on player (like it used to)

Lose the GIANT font main menu

I can't figure out a way to sort my Videos.  I used to by able to have Playlist (folders).  I could have Harry Potter Movies.  TV Shows.  You Tube Videos.   Seperate Playlists for all of those.

Then I could drag the Video Playlists over to the "Items to Be Synced" area.  Then I could change my mind and remove them from the Sync area.  Or I could change the items that were in them.  It was simple.  It was easy.  I had lists of what I had done that I could review and change my mind over.  Then I could click a little Sync now button and off it would go.  I can't figure any of this out.   Now all I can figure out is drag one video item at a time onto the picture of the Zune..... and then the next one ..... etc etc


and is it me or does SYNCING TAKE FOREVER NOW?

it needs meta-editing back. perferably the new one for WMP/ zune1.4

also need 5 star system back. this heart crap is useless, every song on my library is a heart....duh

First of all, good luck trying to get everyone to actually READ AND RESPOND to this thread instead of others, but don't bet on it. Forums just never work that way.

Anyway, I want an installer for XP x64 Edition. It's a currently supported Microsoft OS platform, and they should treat it as such. I am very frustrated with Microsoft development teams shafting users of this version of Windows.

I will second the requests for Autoplaylists to return and the ability to mass-edit the metatags. I think there should be an OPTION to use either the 5-star or Heart rating system (and not rate them at all).

That's a good point... on the Zune player, I think the font size should be bigger than the 1.4 firmware, definitely, but the full main should still fit on one screen without having to scroll down.

Also - something I would like is for the software on the PC to have the same playback and orgainzation options as the device. The current org for the collection is pretty useless, IMO. Why not have a similar interface on both?

 

Also, let me shuffle play on the PC.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that already exists in the lower right corner with the Play controls.

Delete straight from the Zune instead of must using the computer.

Bookmarks for the podcasts.  That way you can start where you left off on a 2 hour podcast when it is paused in the middle. If you synch or charge the Zune, it loses its place.

Browse into Zune using Windows Explorer

Use additional space on Zune as Computer storage device.
