Found a Mod/Hack to change the font on the software so that you can have dark backgrounds.

You can keep the font color but change your background.

1. How I did it was first use the second mod
2. Delete the backup of the zuneshellresources.dll (or choose the option to not make a backup)
3. Follow in instructions in the first mod and it should work.

Credits for both mods/hacks go to the creators on those boards.

Indeed would be nice. But at least I can finally have dark backgrounds again! lol. Hopefully they can fix it. I mean I seems that if someone already hacked it that they could roll that into a new update, maybe even lettting us choose our own colors for fonts and etc.

ah, so YOU are one and the same!  LOL

I have some more updates in the pipeline for DarkTheme (tweaking more of the graphics to match) but I'm waiting to see how much the new update will change things.

Good work on this mod. Willy, I can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve. It's funny becasue I just finished tweaking a background that complemented the font color (yeah I got the background from the forums). I guess it's back to the "background drawing boards."

I'll second the picture posting lament.

Thanks!  ...that background that you posted is one of the few that actually works with the darker fonts.

Thanks. It took me a while to get it right. It started as the October Sky background from mandolux. I inverted the colors and started playing around in photoshop adjusting, the brightness, contrast and colors of both October Sky and of the background jpg of this forum as a semi-transparent layer on top of a section of the October Sky invert. The hardest part was finding a section of that was bright enough for the whole window while making sure the Zune pattern would show through and some of the original color gradient made it through as well. Also, I made another one of the other forum background that you see on this site.

Swirls 1680x1050 (its a little over contrast I know, I might clean it up later)

Ah Hey Willys, Hows it going, I should have figured you would be on here but I never saw your mod/hack here so thought I would share with others.
Yes as mentioned before Willys is the genius behind the mod DarkTheme.

Sounds good man cant wait for more.! Do you know when the new update will be coming, You mention it like you might, just curious. I havn't been on in a while so might have overlooked it.
